What Actually Goes Into a Yoga Retreat?

People see the yoga, the mountains, the beautiful food and the sunsets.

What they don't usually see is everything that happens before everyone arrives.

There's the venue. Flights. Transfers. Food. Yoga equipment. Room lists. Guest information. Activities. Emergency plans. Timings. And more spreadsheets than I'd like to admit.

Then there's all the little things.

Making sure everyone knows where they're going. Checking the food is right.

Working out how we're getting 16 people from A to B. Making sure the yoga space is ready before everyone wakes up.

And somewhere in the middle of all of that, I have to remember that I'm actually supposed to enjoy it too.

That's probably one of my favourite parts of running retreats, though.

Taking all the little pieces and turning them into an experience that people can just switch off and enjoy.

By the time guests arrive, I want them to feel like everything has been taken care of.

They don't need to know about the spreadsheets.

They just need to know where the yoga mat is.

And where we're having dinner.

When I first started looking at how people find yoga retreats, I discovered platforms like Book Yoga Retreats, which opened my eyes to just how many people are looking for something a little different from their usual holiday.

And that's really what I'm trying to create.

A few days where you can leave the planning to someone else, put your phone down, breathe a little deeper and enjoy where you are
