The First Morning of a Retreat | Morocco Yoga Retreats
There's something special about the first morning of a retreat.
People have arrived, bags have been unpacked, and after all the planning, the adventure has finally begun.
Some people wake up full of excitement. Others might feel a little nervous, especially if they've come on their own and don't know anyone yet.
And that's completely normal.
I think it takes a bit of courage to book a trip like this. To step away from your usual routine, spend time with strangers and try something different. Especially when life at home is busy, your head is full, and you're so used to looking after everyone else that you forget to make time for yourself.
That's one of the reasons I wanted to create Harmonious Wellbeing.
For me, it's not just about yoga. It's about getting outside, exploring somewhere new, experiencing a different culture and giving yourself the chance to do things you might not normally do.
Maybe your morning starts on a yoga mat. Maybe it's a walk through the mountains, followed by a long breakfast and a day exploring somewhere you've never been before.
There's no need to be the most flexible person in the room, the fittest hiker or the loudest person in the group.
You can just turn up as you are.
I'd love for people to arrive on my retreats feeling excited, even if they're a little nervous, and leave feeling more confident, connected and ready to take a bit of that feeling home with them.
Because the best part isn't necessarily the yoga class or the view from the top of a mountain.
It's the moments in between. The conversations over breakfast, the unexpected laughs, the new friendships and that feeling of being completely present in what you're doing.
And that's what I want these adventures to be about.
Not escaping your life, but taking a little time to experience it differently.
